The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers specifies particular Coating Systems for use on Hydraulic Structures. Primary uses of these materials are Locks and Dams and related
structures.
Listed below are the latest standard systems as referenced in UFGS-09 97 02 dated April 2006
USACOE 17-22
SYSTEM NO. 17
First Coat:
- SSPC Paint 27- (For Galvanized Surfaces), or
- SSPC Paint 25 (For Bare Metal Surfaces),
or
- MPI # 46- Interior Alkyd Primer (For Bare Metal Sufaces), or
- MPI # 50- Interior Latex Primer
Second and Third Coats:
MPI # 114- Interior Latex, Gloss
MPI # 54- Interior Latex, Semi-Gloss
MPI # 52- Interior Latex, Eggshell
MPI # 53-
Interior Latex, Flat
System will depend upon surface to be coated and should be applied in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
